WIN Hosts 2nd Annual Legislative Breakfast

140 attendees, including legislators, local elected officials, workforce investment board members, workforce development professionals, and educators joined WIN on March 5th to learn about American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) efforts designed to help people get back to work. Governor O'Malley addressed the group, and reiterated his support for workforce development and job creation.

Attendees also heard about the critical role WIN is playing in implementing ARRA funded job-related activities through its network of 35 One-Stop Career Centers across the state. These centers help connect job seekers with local employment and/or retraining opportunities  who are hiring, and are a valuable resource to which legislators can refer constituents who have lost or are in jeopardy of losing their jobs.
